Bootstrapping in America with Nick Wesley of Urban Rivers

Bootstrapping in America with Nick Wesley of Urban Rivers

Urban Rivers, a non-profit organization located at mHUB, has made tremendous progress in transforming city rivers into urban wildlife sanctuaries to reconnect people of all backgrounds to nature in new and innovative ways. Urban Rivers is currently spearheading the Wild Mile project, a mile-long floating park located in the Chicago River. Urban Rivers will also install the Learning Platform in spring 2020, a floating walkway surrounded by wetlands where students and the public can experience the magic of the Chicago River. Another initiative they've launched is a public controlled trash-collecting robot.

Nick Wesley, co-founder and director of Urban Rivers, was recently featured in an interview on tastyTrade's Bootstrapping in America. Nick is leading the development and planning on the Wild Mile project. He has also forged partnerships with the City of Chicago, non-profits such as the Shedd Aquarium, and corporate groups such as Patagonia. Learn more in the full interview video above.
