mHUB is up and running in beta! As is Chicago’s tradition, we have no small plans and we’re standing on some big shoulders. A big thank you to the many individuals and organizations who helped us get to this point and continue to support us as Chicago’s first innovation center focused on physical product development and manufacturing. Our community of product designers and developers, entrepreneurs, engineers and manufacturers is off to a great start as the first beta members coming over from Catalyze move in.
Mayor Emanuel called us the “final piece of the manufacturing puzzle” in Chicago.
Indeed, it was his Regional Plan for Economic Growth and Jobs that planted the seeds for mHUB and tasked World Business Chicago with charting a course for the next great era of Chicagoland manufacturing. And here we are today in the middle of our first week, a physical product manufacturing incubator that we believe will become a critical component to maintaining Chicago’s leadership in product innovation and manufacturing.
And, of course, mHUB wouldn’t be where it is today without the support of our founding partners which, in addition to the City of Chicago and World Business Chicago, includes Marmon, GE Ventures, JP Morgan Chase and the Catalyze Chicago community, which makes up mHUB’s founding members.
