A new era of manufacturing: robotic workforce companions made custom for your business
Experts in distribution and manufacturing, HCM Systems Inc., creates advanced automation solutions ranging from conveyor and palletizing systems to fully-integrated systems across multiple disciplines. The company is truly helping usher in the fourth industrial revolution by automating manufacturing and packaging plants.
In November of 2019, HCM Systems moved its Advanced Research and Development team, which is tasked with driving innovation throughout the organization, to mHUB from Willowbrook, IL. By joining a community of entrepreneurs, HCM Systems can collaborate with people from a wide range of disciplines, propelling them to the next level.
In this member spotlight, President Charlie Hillebold shares the HCM Systems story.
Where did your idea and value proposition start?
HCM Systems was originally launched by George Henry in 1962 to help support the growing material handling needs of manufacturing companies in the Chicago area, beginning with local confection factories.
Over time, we saw increased demand for greater technical expertise within the field of automation and found unique opportunities to provide additional value to our current clients. We’ve now expanded far beyond confectionery product handling and have grown to managing three separate engineering divisions: mechanical, electrical, and software. We work to leverage all three disciplines to form custom integrated applications that utilize vision and robotics to aid manufacturing and distribution in markets worldwide. We’re no longer just a supplier of products, but instead, we are a full engineering implementation firm. We work side-by-side with each client to increase the quality, safety, and efficiency of all manufacturing processes.
What led you to mHUB?
We discovered mHUB when an HCM Systems engineer approached us about the innovation center after touring the space. Once our team visited and learned about mHUB’s mission, it was clear that our strategic plans and culture aligned. HCM strives to innovate and bring practical solutions to complex applications and problems. The mHUB community will help expand our exposure to the manufacturing industry by supporting our research, design, testing, and implementation. We believe that collaboration is essential to growth, and it’s clear that mHUB share’s that mission. We expect that shared belief system will help drive success in the coming years.
What’s next for HCM Systems?
With a projected growth of 175% over the next decade, the collaborative industrial robotics market is taking off and we plan to capture that growth. Our goal is to stay ahead of the curve by continuously adding to our toolbelt of system integration. By joining the mHUB community, we’ll be one step closer to reaching out future goals.
