mHUB’s Industry Disruptors is a bi-monthly event featuring some of the best and brightest innovators of our time. Kicking off the series is Brad Keywell, the co-founder and CEO of Uptake.

 

A serial entrepreneur who co-founded over 15 companies including Groupon, Echo Global Logistics, Mediaocean and Lightbank, Brad used his deep expertise in data analytics to disrupt industries to co-found Uptake, a technology company that converts data into actionable insights to make the world more productive, reliable and safe.

 

Hear Brad’s journey in building Uptake into the fastest US company to achieve a $2 billion dollar valuation, and how the company is creating unprecedented business advantages for leading industries around the world. Brad will be interviewed by Adam Waytz, a psychologist and Associate Professor at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Brad Keywell is the co-founder and CEO of Uptake, a technology company that converts data into actionable insights to make the world more productive, reliable and safe. In 2015, Uptake was named “Startup of the Year” by Forbes, and has since become the fastest U.S. startup to reach a $2 billion valuation. Brad is committed to institutions that promote learning and entrepreneurship in communities across Chicago and the Midwest. He is the founder and chairman of Chicago Ideas, one of the largest innovation and ideas gatherings in the world. In 2010, Brad and his wife, Kim, launched the Keywell Foundation, which supports social innovators who are catalyzing change around the world. Groupon, Inc. and a founding partner of Lightbank. He serves as a trustee of the NorthShore University HealthSystem and Equity Residential, is a member and past Chairman of the Young Presidents’ Organization, and is a member of the Northwestern University Transportation Center Business Advisory Council. 

Adam Waytz is a psychologist and an associate professor of management and organizations in the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He uses methods from social psychology and cognitive neuroscience to study the causes and consequences of perceiving mental states in other entities. He has received a National Research Service Award from the National Institute of Health at Harvard University, is the first person to receive twice the Theoretical Innovation Prize from the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, winner of the SAGE Young Scholar Award and the International Social Cognition Network’s Early Career Award.
