In partnership with the La Fondation Dassault Systèmes, mHUB is excited to launch a CAD Modeling for 3D Printing Boot Camp, a pilot program to give Chicago Community College (CCC) Richard J. Daley College students and staff of the opportunity to expand their CAD modeling and design skills for 3D printing using Solidworks software. The boot camp focuses on exposing students to the design principles for 3D printing. The boot camp will be taught at mHUB by highly experienced staff in product design
This event has ended.
-DAY 1- 10/19 2:00-6:00 PM
-DAY 2- 10/20 11:00 AM-4:00 PM
What you’ll learn:
• 3D printing product ideation
• Drafting a CAD file for 3D printed parts
• Producing a 3D printed product in one of the three available technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS)
• Differences in design and modeling for between the 3D printing methods
• Comparison of 3D printing to traditional subtractive fabrication methods
Ideal candidates: Must be students or staff of the CCC and Daley College and should have completed an introductory course in CAD modeling with an interest in learning more about design for manufacturing in 3D printing technologies.
