Distribution, sales, and supply chains. What creatives need to know about the left-brained disciplines of consumer products.
This event has ended.
In his 23 year career, Joe Born has brought $350MM worth of innovative consumer electronics products to market. Starting with a patent and $15,000 of angel investment, Joe took the CD repair device, SkipDoctor, to 10 million units sold in 10 years. Joe is also a pioneer in the field of open source hardware, helping to influence many of its partners to become more open, including successfully lobbying Texas Instruments to release a free compiler for a previously closed Digital Signal Processor.
Joe's focus and passion is the combination of startup innovation with the great economies of scale of established supply chains, both in manufacturing as well as design. Hear from Joe about his experiences with hardware product development and scaling production in a world where the manufacturing sector is constantly changing and where much of the infrastructure for scaling remains in Asia.
