Joel Paglione
Industrial Engineer, Designer, and Entrepreneur
Joel is an experienced Engineer and successful entrepreneur responsible for consumer goods brands Oak Bottle, Magnetie, LevitatingX, and Med-Eye Care. Joel specializes in what he calls the “bootstrap quick-to-market ground up product development approach” which he has deployed time and time again successfully the past 10 years with the incubation of many globally recognized consumer goods products such as tableware products the Oak Bottle, and the Levitating Cup among others in the medical and supplements industries. He says his proven track record to bring profitable products to market quickly and inexpensively is a culmination of “lessons learned from the experience of good old-fashioned ass-kickings, perseverance, courage, intuition, and a whole lot of good timing”. He loves to talk to entrepreneurs in an authentic unvarnished boiled down way, about the simplified approaches that have worked for him so they too can learn how to navigate early stage product development companies.
Joel attended the University of Windsor, graduating with a Bachelor of Science honors degree in Industrial Engineering. He went on to graduate with a Masters of Business Administration from the Odette School of Business. Besides his consumer goods product development successes, Joel's other accomplishments include his work in the Defense division of a fortune 500 international truck and engine manufacturer where he managed the operations of multiple military and defense programs such as the manufacturing of Armored Vehicles for the US Military and other NATO allies- many of those programs in supporting the safety of ground troops for the Afghan and Iraq War. With the U.S. mandate to withdraw troops reducing MRAP demands, Joel then focused his time in the Commercial Division, where he managed the company’s new product launch and development projects as it related to the company’s overall manufacturing strategies, quality improvement initiatives, and strive for continued world-class manufacturing processes. Joel also works directly with iconic companies such as Sears and Walgreens with their business transformations, global branding initiatives, and product development. His passion and experience in solving real-world problems, whether big or small, is rooted in who he is and what he believes in.
